Modern Dentures

A Complete Smile,
Restored

Modern dentures look nothing like the dentures of previous generations. Custom-crafted from high-quality acrylic and porcelain teeth, today's dentures are designed to be comfortable, natural-looking, and functional.

At Edgemont Dental, every denture is carefully fitted to your unique mouth anatomy — with multiple try-in appointments to ensure the result is right before it's finalised. We don't rush the process, because getting it right matters.

Denture Types

Which Denture Is
Right for You?

Full Dentures

Replace a complete arch of teeth (upper, lower, or both). Made after healing from extractions — designed for a precise, comfortable fit. Held in place by suction and the contours of your gum tissue.

Partial Dentures

For patients with remaining natural teeth. A partial denture fills gaps using a metal framework that clasps onto remaining teeth, or using more aesthetic tooth-coloured clasps for a discreet result.

Why Dentures?

Life-Changing
Benefits

Restore Chewing Function

Eat the foods you love again — a properly fitted denture restores significant chewing ability and lets you enjoy a varied, nutritious diet.

Support Facial Structure

Missing teeth cause the face to sag over time. Dentures restore lip and cheek support, maintaining your natural facial contours.

Improve Speech

Missing teeth affect pronunciation and clarity. Dentures restore natural speech patterns so you can communicate with confidence.

Removable & Easy to Clean

Remove for cleaning and sleeping — straightforward maintenance compared to fixed restorations, with no special instruments required.

The Process

From First Appointment
To Final Delivery

01

Comprehensive Assessment

Impressions, measurements, and photos to understand your bite and facial structure. We take the time needed to plan a result that's functional, comfortable, and natural-looking.

02

Custom Fabrication

Your dentures are crafted by a skilled dental lab using high-quality acrylic and porcelain teeth — selected to match your natural colouring and facial proportions.

03

Try-in Appointments

Multiple fittings to assess fit, function, and appearance before finalising. We don't rush — you must be satisfied with the look and feel before we complete the dentures.

04

Final Delivery

Your finished dentures are delivered and adjusted for a comfortable, secure fit. Follow-up appointments are included to refine any pressure points as you adjust.

FAQ

Common Questions

How long does it take to get dentures?

From your first appointment to final delivery, typically 4–6 weeks for conventional dentures. Immediate dentures are placed the same day as extractions but require more adjustments as healing occurs over the following months.

Will dentures slip?

Well-fitted dentures should stay firmly in place during normal function. Over time, as your jaw bone changes shape, dentures may loosen and need relining or replacing. Implant-supported dentures are the most stable option, anchored directly to implants in the jaw — no movement, no adhesives.

Are dentures uncomfortable?

There's an adjustment period — your muscles and tissues adapt over the first few weeks as your mouth learns to work with the new denture. Any pressure points are adjusted at follow-up appointments. A properly fitted denture should ultimately be comfortable throughout the day.
